If you have links to studies on the web, attach them please. I have an argument going with someone. I believe that 7.5 is way enough or 8 in some occasions. But after 8.5 or 9 I'm WAY more tired than if I get 7

Someone told me that they think i'll die early because i only get 7.5 on average. I want to prove them wrong or at least get some people on my side.

Each person is unique, and sleep requirements vary from person to person....it is generally accepted by the medical community that for restorative sleep 8 hours is usually required.

I do think 7.5 to 8 hours of sleep is plenty. Sometimes less. It depends on when you go to bed. I've found that I can go to bed around one in the morning or so, get my 7.5 hours of sleep or so, and feel really groggy in the morning. Yet, if I go to bed at a decent hour and get the same amount of sleep, I feel perfectly fine. I tend to be more tired with more sleep, as well. But it does depend on the person. Some people just need more sleep.

If I sleep less than 7 hours straight, I'm feeling bad the rest of the day. If I sleep more than 9, I also feel tired.
Anywhere between 7 and 9 is good for me. Plus, sleeping in the floor helps.

You should sleep enough hours so that you wake up feeling rested and well. And it depends on the person how many hours he/she may need, some people need more other less. I think 8 is just an average.

it depends on the person - I am like you and get 7-8 a night. Occaisionally I will get 8.5 and that's okay if I am really tired. I have friends that run on 4 or so but they nap- I can't do naps - they bugger me up

I think that 7.5-8 is right. Too much does make me feel less energenic. Unfortunatly I usually only get about 6 and if I don't get enough it makes me irritable.

If I don't get 24 hours of beauty sleep each and every day, I wake up ugly and in a bad mood.
