I believe that all people will be "saved" if they believe in something that's right for them. After all, whoever you believe in, God, Buddha, Allah, Godess, whomever, gave us freewill to believe what we wish. Those who believe it's their way or the highway need to wake up and actually think about what their diety is trying to tell them.

The majority of religions teach peace, love, tolerance and compassion. I do believe that each must choose their own path, they cannot walk the path of another. I was told many years ago to live my life in a way that the world would mourn my crossing. As long as we do this, what others think is unimportant.

Because you shouldn't have to pay dues for salvation at the hands of the great tomato. That's a cult.

Honestly, if you have found a way of believing that encourages love and peace, and brings you happiness, NO ONE has the right to criticize you for it. Religion isn't based in fact, so people believing that there is only one "correct" religion are either brainwashed or just plain stupid. If you got happiness, love and peace, more power to ya man.

You can accept whatever path of peace and love you wish, but if you have ever lied, stolen, lusted, hated, or blasphemed God, you have sinned and you will need Christ's payment on the Cross if you are to make it to heaven when you die. It is appointed to a man once to die and after that, the judgment. If you have no thought to your eternal destiny and if you do not value your soul, then go ahead. And thanks for the peace and love. But you don't automatically "get whatever you believed" when you die; that's a ridiculous notion that seems to be out there these days.

Because if you are not one certain religion then you are going to hell. And since their are thousands of religions out there and many of them are based on the same books, one can't choose their religion as all religions. So based on the first sentence we are all going to hell cause no one can agree with one another about religion. My opinion, believe what you true think is real and right. Live life the way that you think it should be lived and you will get what you deserve. I claim myself non-religious based on the fact that every religion I've heard of is hypocritical of themselves and some of their strongest members are the some of the most hateful and evil hearted people I have met. It all comes down to the almighty dollar for most of them anyways, but good luck seeing if they will admit it.

Yes, the Bible teaches about peace and love -- but the diffference is Jesus. Without Jesus, you can't know the truth -- that He is the way the truth and the light.

Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with being a good person. But being good won't lead to you life everlasting with the Lord.

Do you remember the story of the blind magi and the elephant? They were pointed to an elephant and told it was God. One mage felt the trunk and decided that God was a Snake, flexible and penetrating. One feld a leg and decided that God was a pillar, holding up the world and giving us all something to lean on when tired. The third felt an ear, and determined that God was a tent, protecting us from danger. I know there are many versions of this, but this was the one I liked best.
I think you and I have found the eyes, seeing all and knowing that it's all a matter of point of view...

then why are you not a muslim, because thats the teachings of islam

There is no compulsion in the religion; Truth stands out clear from error; so whoso disbelieves in idols and believes in God, has laid hold of the most firm handle, which cannot break; and God is Hearing, Knowing.
Al-Quran (2:256)

"But if the enemy incline towards PEACE, do thou (also) incline towards peace, and trust in God: for He is One that heareth and knoweth (all things). (The Noble Quran, 8:61)"

“If they leave you alone and offer to make PEACE with you, God does not allow you to harm them.” (QURAN 4:90)

Muhammad (s) said, 'Allah will not be merciful to those who are not merciful to mankind.' (Translation of Sahih Bukhari,, Volume 9, Book 93, Number 473)"

Is loving one’s fellowman what really counts?

There is no doubt about it, such love is important. (Rom. 13:8-10) But being a Christian involves more than simply being kind to our neighbor. Jesus said that his true disciples would be outstandingly identified by their love for one another, for fellow believers. (John 13:35) The importance of that is emphasized repeatedly in the Bible. (Gal. 6:10; 1 Pet. 4:8; 1 John 3:14, 16, 17) However, Jesus showed that even more important is our love for God himself, which is shown by our obedience to his commandments. (Matt. 22:35-38; 1 John 5:3) To demonstrate such love, we need to study and apply God’s Word and assemble with fellow servants of God for worship.

If it makes you happy, and isn't hurting others, just go for it. My belief is that the most important thing to God is what is in your heart and that you are learning and trying to improve your life. So many religions are about control and instilling guilt. I finally had to break away from mine to find happiness and peace. Hope that helps.
