because of all the people who have died in it. it's creepy to think i'm swimming in the little bits and pieces of sailors and tsunami vistims and shark attack victims who have ever died in the ocean. It's also creepy cuase some people pee in the ocean.
other than that, i don't know. i am afraid of deep ocean, like way out when you can't reach the bottom and it's just dark. I don't know why i'm scared of that.
I also seem to have some weird obsession with lagoons. For a about a year, I had at least three vivid dreams involving lagoons, and one involving a water slide and a canal. I mean really vivid dreams, like I still remember them.

I like the beauty of the ocean and the beautiful sunsets! But the sharks that come up to the shore looking for food scare me so I don't swim in the ocean. Lived in Florida 4 years! hugs!

I am not afraid of the ocean itself, it can't hurt me. I am afraid of some of the things in the ocean. Sharks to be specific. I have the same attitude that Larry the Cable guy does. I can't fight off a shark in the ocean, but you put that sucker in a Wal-Mart parking lot and I'll kick it's a**!!!

Yes because everytime i go there i can't see the bottom, and i imagine there are things there. And I picture myself at the bottom of the ocean with no way to get away and a large sea creature whale or shark or just big fish or eel, chasing me. This has happened to me ever since I play the game Treasures of the Deep.

I am very afraid because it's one of the largest masses of water that ever existed on our planet! And plus, it's easy to get sucked out into the ocean for miles!

Yes and no. It is calming and peaceful to watch it but I hate standing in it when it feels like the backwash is pulling you out. And the thought of sharks is always on my mind although I've never seen one. I do love being by the ocean though.

I am freaked of the Ocean, I do not know whats in it, and its so deep and strong, I am afraid of drowning and dying there.

i love the ocean but the waves scare me because I got turned over and over in the surf once. I only go in when the waves are calm.

actualy in a way yes .i fear what may be there ,yet there is also something so tranquil abut it ,and some thing that captures the imagination .I have very mixed feelings
