World War III is underway already, in definition anyway. Being as these terrorists have attacked in many countries, means world war. I for one have a problem with my local drug laws. I want to be able to smoke what I want to smoke on my own property. And property taxes. Noone truly owns property, you're renting it forever because if you stop paying for it, it gets taken away. And for that matter, immonant domain laws. County, State and Country can take your land just because they believe they need it. Taxation without representation. Of course we have to pay taxes for this nation to operate, but I get no say in what I pay where. Its taken from me, and if I try to keep it I get put in the dungeon. Gay marriage. I have nothing against gays, nor am I christian, but marriage is a christian bond that in its very nature should be reserved for hetero marriage. but, there should be a legally equal bond for gays, just to be fair because marriage has become such a prominant piece of information in the state, gays should have such a legal bond. marijuana legislation. we have learned in the past 70 years that marijuana is not going to cause anyone to go crazy and start a murderous rampage. It will not cause violent rape or insanity. We should stop filling our jails and wasting our tax dollars criminalizing these victimless offenders. Just think of what would happen to drug testing companies if thc were no longer a criteria for their testing? All the other drugs they test for only stay in the sytem for hours or maybe a couple days at a time. only marijuana stays for so long that insurance companies require businesses to do these tests on employees. Its rediculous. Stem cell research. Why not? So many people say "Life is precious and none of it should be wasted!" well, where are all these people when it comes time to adopt these abandoned embryos? Noone wants to flip the bill, but everyone wants to *****. Well, I have some more, but I believe I made my point here. thanks for listening, er, reading ; )

My pet peeve is an issue that can help the economy, the environment, the prison overcrowding problem, the war on dangerous drugs, taxes, farming, and much of the violence in our society in 1 shot. Marijuana and hemp law reform. Sounds like I'm exaggerating doesn't it? Read Jack Herer's book " The Emperor Wears No Clothes". Judge for yourself.

we in ct had our taxes raised two years ago by a billion dollars to cover a deficit by out of control spending. then last year they had a 400 million dollar surplus and this year a 700 million dollar surplus. instead of giving it back or saving it for the next time they spent that to. they also shot down our Governor on a bill that would have eliminated the property tax on cars. their reasoning was that rich people would have received a bigger break because they own more expensive cars. to bad they didn't think i could use the extra three hundred dollars.

Garbage everywhere. When I was a kid we could walk barefoot. The people who hung out in this neighborhood and went to school here actually lived here and took pride in their area. Now there are strangers everywhere. They come here to park and party, but have no respect or pride. People don't live here long. Kids are bussed or driven to school by people who throw their garbage out the window onto our sidewalks. Kids walking to school throw their trash on the ground.
When I was a kid we were taught to pick up behind us, carry our trash with us, and throw garbage in the next garbage can. I walked with my son and taught him the same thing. You don't run people off the sidewalk, walk off with stuff from their lawn, and you don't throw trash on the ground. It's basic roadside etiquette.
The street sweeper rarely makes an appearance and the city people no longer send someone how to clean the streets. It's very sad.

crime: gangs

energy: solution to high gas prices has to be started locally - institute incentives and awareness of electric cars, solar panels, wind turbines

education: students are just not into school in the U.S. like they should be. (depends on the area) Parents are disconnected and need to learn how to be good parents.
