No, I'm sorry, I don't speak Portuguese but I will try to explain.
It's quiet, quiet, quiet .. and then all of a sudden someone laughs so much it is as if they couldn't hold it all in and it exploded out of them .... like a volcano erupting.

I don't know Portugese, but an outburst of laughter is a 'guffaw', or an unexpected loud, laughing response to a situation or a joke.

Laughter = noun
Laugh = verb
