I want to buy digital camara.. please give me idea?

Question

some body is suggesting that sony camera with 5 mega pixel is best... but what about other compay? what is the different... can I purchase other company also...I think sony is costly....

if you are buying a digital camera you have to know some terns. first and foremost what kind of a photographer are you? are you interested in creating pictures by changing different values of aperture size, exposure and focus or you just want to point and shoot.
you should consider pixels first, now called megapixel. in simple words the more pixel the better picture and the better dollars. if you wanna take pictures and not print them in extra large sizes, a 5 MP camera is enough. you don't need more mp's to print good regular sized prints.
talking about sony, one of my friends have the 5 mp sony which i would say one of the works cams i have ever seen. it would not let me do anything with major controls. I own a nikkon coolpix 8800 camera. so far i don't hate it but i am thinking of getting a d70. i love nikkon but i am sure there are others also. but before you buy just check few things mentioned below
how many pixels yo want
better take cams that are powered with lithium ion batteries as they are good to provide constant power for the lcd
you might want good storage media, try getting higher valued storage device
what is connection to computer? these are generally usb, see if you can find firewire, check if your computer has firewire port
see what you can control. to me more you can control, the better it is. do some research before buying

I always buy Canon and highly recommend it for digital cameras. It is the best brand out there. It's a bit pricer than Sony, but it lasts a long time and takes great pictures. If you're looking for something around the 5 - 6 megapixel range then, I would suggest PowerShot SD700 IS. The IS stands for Image Stabilization, so if you're a bit shaky, it'll still keep your shot clear, instead of blurry. I would definitely invest in this camera, even though it's a little pricey ($400-500). However, it's very powerful, it'll last you a long time, and well-worth the money. If it's too costly for you, I would still stick with Canon, but look for a different model that suits your needs.

First, I would stick to the popular name brands such as Sony, Cannon, Kodak, etc. The technologies are proven and the warranties shoud be honored.

Next, YOU have to decide what features you want, and what you can afford to spend.

If large print sizes are important, buy as much megapixel as you can afford. If high magnification is your greatest need, look for the highest OPTICAL zoom you can afford. If you want the maximum control features, prepare to pay more. If simplicity is what you want, look for that in the features.

Also, watch our for what type of batteries are required. Some cameras need special type of batteries for power. Others use standard alkaline AA batteries that you can purchase in almost any kind of shop.

Memory cards also vary. If you already have a device using memory cards, you may want to consider a camera that uses the same kind. Sony uses a memory stick and works great in other devices ... as long as they are Sony devices.

Whatever you buy, be sure to set aside enough money to buy an extra memory card. Trust me on this one.

Sony mostly makes good stuff though, as do all the other major brands (Canon, Nikon, Kodak, Olympus, and Panasonic). For a large part, it's just a matter of personal preference.

Canon is the only brand I would always recommend. Sony is ok too.
I would not buy a Panasonic due to their issues with 'noise'.
Remember...you pay for what you get.
Quality with optics etc is always important...and for that, you might have to pay a few extra dollars.
These days, 6MP is the minimum I would buy.

i think Canon IXUX and Nikon Coolpix r better. As for Sony, expensive n not as good as Canon n Nikon if u need a compact camera. As for dSLR, u can consider Sony.....cheaper than Canon n Nikon.

Man, you really should consider some of the new Panasonic Lumix. Great image stability and megapixels a lot. Go to your neighborhood electronic store and ask for 'em. Chances are you'll walk out of there with one of them.
