Caring isn't pride. If it was, then doing anything at all would be pride: brushing your teeth, combing your hair, wearing clothes...
Pride is about wanting to be better than others. Wanting to be good, doesn't have to be about anyone else. If the church is trying to look good, it is not the same as trying to look better then the church down the street.

Because they don't realize they they are taking pride and are actually creating a house for satan. A church does not have to look like a castle to be a church. A church can be a shabby run down shack and it can still be a church.
It does not matter where you get the word of God as long as you get it.

EXCESSIVE pride is a sin. Just wanting to look nice and inviting to new members isn't a sin.

What churches are you referring to? And what do you mean by the way they look? If you're referring to keeping the grounds nice and the grass cut, wouldn't that be out of respect for the sanctity of the place? They may be abiding by city ordinances. Every church is different. But thanks for generalizing.

My church was built for the glory of God, not for man's pride. Any thing about the church, if not done for the Glory of God is worthless.

Churches are simply trying to keep their holy grounds sacred. Would you wipe your butt with Bible pages? No! just like you would'nt defoul Holy Grounds with Dirt and grime.
