Mine is the dog I have now now. She is a black lab mix and she is the sweetest dog ever. she is 51 lbs and she thinks she is a lap dog. She can be that cuddly or she can be my jogging partner and will jog with me for five miles. She know my emotions and she is what I am. If I am happy she is happy, if I am sad she is sad, If I am scared she is scared, if I am angry she is angry. She is the best and I love her soo much! ;-)

The dog that I have now is definately the best dog ever. And he was ADOPTED FROM A SHELTER. Shelter dogs make the best pets, they appreciate you. They know you saved their life.

All mine have found me. I don't know how strays know how to find dog lovers, but they do. I used to joke that I had a neon sign that only the animals could see. My sheltie mix was headed toward the highway, couldn't pick her, had young daughter and she didn't look too healthy. Stopped and turned her around, just kidding I told her to go wait at my house. Looked for almost 2 hours on way home for her. Afraid I would never see her again, but she was waiting at my house just like she was told. Smartest dog I ever had. Went 3 miles to my house. Had this smart, loyal and devoted dog for 15 years. Then one day I came home and this huge rottie was sitting on my porch, looking at me real sad and pitiful. Told her she couldn't stay (already had 3), well she had other ideas. Figure somebody dumped her and she was very pregnant. Never could find her owner, but a lot of people answered ad, wanting a full blooded pregnant rottie. Most if not all of those people wanted her to make money off of her, didn't find anyone who wanted her, just for her. She had my heart from that first pitiful stare, and she knew it. Had "Baby" 12 long wonderful years. She was more fun, she liked sucking on the babys pacifier (she weighed 120lbs). And the lake, if they didn't take her in the boat, she would try and get on someones jet ski. It's been 10 years since I lost Lassie and 5 years for Baby. Still miss them every day. Finally just added Lucy, some kind of retriever mix. She's a little wild, but I have two toddler grandsons that she guards with her life. She sleeps with her paws on them and me. She does everything with her paws, never seen a dog do this before, pretty funny. Now she has a special place in my heart.

Mine was a miniature schnauzer jack russel mix. He could sense my moods, and I think he could understand most everything I said.
Probably the most intelligent and stubborn dog I have ever seen, yet very easy to train. He knew every family member and frequent guests by name, all I had to do was say go see ----- and he would jump on their lap.
He was the only dog I have ever had that was comfortable staring directly into a person's eyes. (he seemed to enjoy it)
I lost him to IMHA at age 6 just over a year ago.

Your dog sounds wonderful!

The best dog that I ever owned (well maybe HE owned me :) was a mixed breed small dog. He was part Manchester Terrier. I adopted him from the animal shelter. He was my companion, my friend, and a wonderful part of my life for over 15 years!! He could ride a skate board, it was so cute.

The best dog I ever had was my white Great Dane. He was so sweet and loyal and he barely left my side but unfortunately he was shot about a year ago. Since then I haven't met a dog that could compare to him.

best dog i ever had was a yellow lab named Emma, she was eight when i lost her last oct.to hip and never problems, she was great with my kids and all visiters, we could walk her without a leash and trust her anywhere and with anyone, she never left my side and never complained i didn't even know she was ill till she started to limp, the vet said he has never seen hips so bad on an eight year old dog before , how was she walking he didn't know. she continued to fallow me and be with me even in all her pain, we tryed ever medication to keep her out of pain , and spent thousands of dollars and was told we'd have a year that we could keep her compfortable by the vet, three weeks later she went down hill fast and i said goodbye to my best friend , i held her as she slipped away and cryed like i have never cryed before , her ashes still sit in my liveing room , i can't part with then just yet , she was the best dog ever to grace my life with her love

I have a yellow lab and a yellow lab beagle mix. Both are the greatest! The yellow lab is #80 and sleeps in our bed.

They bring so much joy to us.

I have had several pets when I was growing up, I don't think any can compare to a lab / lab mix

As a pre-teen I had a doberman named, Red. She was the sweetest dog ever. She followed us around from room to room and loved to snuggle. She was big and looked ferocious but she was a gentle sweet baby.
