If you have more than one cat and they are from the same litter if they mated would the kittens be retarded?

Yes cats can be retarded...wasn't there just a kitten born with two heads...?

not necessarily...but recessive genes come out more with inbreeding. so the first set might not have any birth defects, but eventually there could be some....just because the recessive genes in each of them, eventually become the dominate genes so the litters (probably more likely in the 3rd or 4th and so on down the line.) with inbreeding at the only option can produce mentally and physically handicapped animals. these don't tend to live to their full maturity because the stress on these animals is too great.

Probably not...have you ever seen a retarded cat? When one of our cats act crazed, we say they're retarded. It's cute.

Maybe. It is called line breeding and is sometimes done by breeders. There would also be a much higher chance of miscarriage, stillbirth and birth defects.
