In this question a girl did an attempt to show that the Bible has some pseudo-scientifical facts in it:

Some answerers give her some very reasonable answers, to refute the nonsense she obviously claims as truth. Some theists shout in their answers what a brilliant statement she made.

Does this show that atheists and theists just speak complete different languages? Is this really what that cute little story of the Tower of Babel was all about?

We don't speak different languages per say, we just voice diff rent opinions. The Tower of Babel is generally accepted by Christians, the literal point at which language was divided. But your point could stand to reason, I suppose.

hey mark-if two people cant agree on the definition of word is becomes very hard to communicate-so i have to say there are times when two different languages are spoken-keep the peace old hippie here

Part of the key to this is surely the scattering of all into different tongues that others could not understand.
