I don't have the complete answer, but I will give a shot at it.

You might as well ask, why do we exist? Why did God bother creating us?

It appears that the universe was created as an expression of love by God the Father to God the Son (I.E.: it was intended to be a gift, not a burden).

The universe exists to give God pleasure. Otherwise, he would not have bothered to make the universe to begin with (Why should He? What else can we actually do for God?).

Before one becomes too judgmental on God, ask yourself, why do most people have children? Just so that their children can turn into smart-mouthed teenagers and rebel? No one has children just because they thought that they needed a smart-mouth brat to give them a hard time because their life was too peaceful & quiet without children. If that was all there was to it, then you wouldn't have bothered to have children in the first place.

Most people have children because they believe that having children will bring them joy -- increasing the size of your family increases the number of your relationships.

If those relationships are good -- that is, marked by mutual gratitude & respect on both sides -- then it is fun to have this relationship. If the relationship is bad -- marked by one person being hostile, abusive, or indifferent -- then you cast that person out of your life altogether so you don't have to deal with him anymore (sounds like hell, doesn't it?).

We show worship to God, because he first worshiped us -- first by creating us from nothing; second by sacrificing his most precious asset (his son) to restore a broken relationship between Heaven & Earth.

We love (worship) God because he first loved us. Why would God want a one-sided relationship with an indifferent & ungrateful humanity?

Well, the way I see it is that we are the created, and he's the creator. Maybe your definition of worship may be different from my definition, but we shouldn't bow to false gods because that is in a way serving the devil. God warned us about many things we shouldn't do, that have bad consequences many things we see today, such as sexual sin. I believe that honoring God yields profit for one, the same way you should honor your parents, because they know the consequences to certain actions. So, God isn't being egotistical when he tells us not to worship false gods, he's just looking out for us.

I don't believe that God wants to be worshipped per se. This is just a word created by people. And relligion isn't about worship. It's about building a relationship with God the father. Religion is about understanding what it means to believe in a greater being. It's about getting to know this God. Giving thanks and becoming comfortable with your spirituality. If you have ever taken time to accept the Lord, then you understand what the incredible peace of this is and it is certainly worthy of giving thanks.

He doesn't actually *need* to be worshipped. I believe Jesus was way too humble to actually desire to be worshipped. I guess people see it as a way to get on god's "good side". There isn't really any downside to worshipping god, though. There isn't really any downside... if he does exist, it may pay off in the end but if he doesn't, you haven't really lost anything.

I don't think "IT" needs to be worshipped but like your parents are your parents and that won't change in this life neither will what ever is the force behind all of this being more than just random chaos that materialized into you and me being here in the here and now.

1. When you are in GOD's Presence, HE is so full of LOVE that is about all you can do, thank HIM for letting YOU feel HIS Presence.
2. When you Praise GOD, GOD inhabit's the Praise's of HIS People, and that Drive's away the Enemy (satan, his angel's), and give's you some Relief and Deliverance from satan's junk.
Hope this helps. Ditto...........

No u don't get it and I know what my God has done for me and I want to worship Him meaning hold a certain respect, thanks and reverence to Him. I do it cuz I want to not because someone told me to and that is really how God wants it.

It isn't God that said to worship him/her, but rather, man said it. Even the bible is written by man, even though it's supposed to be inspired by God...buy who knows, what if the person who was inspired by God to write the bible was stoned or something....it was still Written by Man, so I think God doesn't want us to worhsip him....but rather man and his psycopathic tendencies wants us to believe that.

For me, worship is gratitude, counting my blessing. It allows me to live my life better. It has nothing to do with sacrifice or fear of God.
