What is the word for baby shower in Spanish? My friends and I cannot figure it out, and we're native spanish speakers. If anyone knows I would greatly appreciate it.

A baby shower is an American tradition, so most likely the Spanish term for it is derived from the English.

Oh good heavens who cares if you throw your own shower. I'm helping throw my shower. In fact I've done most of the work. I'm on light bed rest so I need something to do. On my showers cake for my son my mom wrote congrats Melissa.

I don't think it is exclusively an American tradition as some have said. It exists in many other countries.
Since it is not an everyday phrase, my guess is that each Spanish speaking country will have a different expression. Try "fiesta del bebe" or "fiesta del nino" (for boy) or "fiesta de la nina" (for girl).
(The second n in "nino" has a tilda.)

All of my Hispanic friends here in the US say "baby shower". But a friend of mine who is from Ecuador, lives in Italy and doesn't speak English at all also says "baby shower". I guess it kept its English name, since it's a tradition that originated in the US.
