It's in pretty good condition - only one, tiny rust spot about the size of a dime. It has 132,000 miles on it. Breaks, tires, and all are brand new. There's only one problem. It's leaking oil. My mechanic told me that for $800, he could put in a refurbished engine and it'd go another 100,000 miles. I want to sell it but I don't know what it's even worth - any suggestions on what I should ask for if I'm just posting it online and and putting it out at the end of my driveway for people to see?

I would ask $2200 and be willing to take $2000. The blue book of this car in fair condition is $2200

I have a 97 Saturn SL1. I also had the oil leak problem. Turned out to be the dreaded head gasket. I spent the $850.00 to get it fixed cuz it's so great on mileage.

I can't help on a selling price, but Saturns are in big demand because of their lower fuel costs. The dealership where I have it repaired has a flyer taped on the door that says they will pay $500 above blue book value on used SL1's. You might want to see what your local car shop would offer you.

I have a 1995 Saturn Twincam. My car is in the best condition it can be. Looks brand new. The way you are decribing the car makes it seems like it is in good condition. The only problem is the leak. If you dont fix the leak you will probably will get 2,000 dollars. If you fix the leak you spend (like you said) 800 and get the car for 3,200.
My car is worth around 3,000. BUT i never ever had a problem with it.

Well i hope this goes well!!!!!!!!!

Best of Luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

To give you a ballpark figure to start with, go to Kelly BLue Book (www.kbb.com) or edmunds.com and plug in your info. That will give you an idea of what a typical price would be for that car.

But I agree, it all depends on the area, so ask around to see what kind of prices you get.
