First know the kind of person you are dealing with. By that I mean is she playing hard to get or is she not interested in you. I the case is she is playing hard to get, you are still in the running for her time. Plan a nice evening for the two of you. Let her know what you would like to do on your date with her. If she has some suggestions, listen and try to incorporate them into the plans. Impress her by bringing flowers on the night of the date. If you feel you are not compatible. Do not feel used or mistreated, just chalk it up to experience and move on to the next lady.

Wish you'd have been more specific on your particular situation. I'd say that in most cases if she's interested in you, you will know when you talk to her. Ask her out! If she says no, no loss, but if she says yes then you've gained a date. Take each date and see where it goes. Good luck!

Tell her you are going to a (well-known) place for a (typical and non-threatening) activity at such and such a time and date --would she like to go there with you?
Don't stare at her or ogle her while asking this. Put away your excellent imitation of Boris Karloff staring at the camera in "The Mummy" and your hilarious version of the Creature of the Black Lagoon staggering out of the swamp while talking to her and asking about this.

i would just flat out ask her...or write her a secret admirer letter and tell her to meet you somewhere and bring a few friends like a double date and then watch the look on her face when she sees you there :) it would be cool and mysterious
