How old are you compared to him. Try this formula it seem to work . If you are at least half his age plus 7 years its ok . any less than the number would make you to young

That is something only the couple can decide. Age is mostly in the mind.
When I was 27, I had occasion to meet my neighbor's aunt, who was 94. She was so bright and so flirty, it was amazing. I still remember her with pleasure after all these years. That was when I realized how little chronological age really means.
Not that anything deep happened, but you may find someone quite a bit off your age whom you have more in common with than anyone else you know. Why lose that?
I am happy I knew that woman.

This depends. If you are under 18 than anyone older than 18 is too old for you. If you are older than 18 than I wouldn't worry too much about how old he is. Unless he's old enough to be your grandfather then its just gross. EWW

Age is just a number. But it is a good indication of maturity. If you feel that your maturity levels match, then age won't be a problem in most instances. But don't make this judgment until you have time with him in person. People can seem more or less mature online than they are in real life.

It all depends on how old you are. 3 year gap is enough if you're a teen, 5 until you're 24 or so, then 10 years.

If you are a minor and he is an adult, he is too old. If you are both adults, over the age of majority in your state, no problem. Otherwise you and he have legal issues to deal with, and it's not worth that for either of you.

you'd better be 18 or he could get in trouble.
but other than that if you are just friends what does it matter.
just keep it light and be honest and truthful. make sure he isn't lying if you can.
