Is this how I can prove the Marines aren't so tough?

In Oct 1983 241 Marines were killed by a terrorist bomb. What did the Marines do? They tucked their tails between their legs and Cut and Ran!! they ran like there was no tomorrow. Real Marines from WW two would have kicked butt all over the place. Marines have gone soft.

This is the problem with the US they think they are the toughest but its the Royal Marines that are the toughest but the US marines and the whole military always run with their tails between their legs

If you think you could do a better job and kick more butt then our Marines now can do, why don't you show the world what you're made of and join the Marines. I have a feeling they would snap you like a twig. I would love to see you make this comment to a Marine in person, because I'm sure he or she would go postal on your *** and show you that he or she isn't as soft as you claim they are.

I understand you had a bad time in The service but what I don't understand is why are you slandering the Marines now? What did these young men do to you ?

Also let me tell you a REAL story.... On Dec 14th a 7 ton truck full of Marines was hit by a pig scum coward driving a car full of bombs. A young man that just turned 20 three days earlier was tossed 35 feet in the air and landed on his head but even though that young man was hurt he got back up grabbed his saw gun and with the help of the other young men in nearby trucks stayed and protected their brothers from more attracts till help came to fly out the injured. How I know this story is true...My son was that 20 year old, He now has brain injuries and just had another operation on his arm and hips.
so now sir please please get your facts straight before you write crap about our troops cause I have lots more stories of brave soldiers who stayed and fought. I have NEVER EVER heard of a Marine running away.

I dare you bring shame on the men and women who have given their lives in protecting this country and it's freedoms! Evidently "you" were not a "True Marine" else you wouldn't have made those statements! If you want to lay blame on any one lay it where it belongs,the abject failure of politicians to negotiate and/or to allow a situation to develop, where negotiations are likely to fail in the long term. War should be avoided at all cost to save human lives. World war, is the ultimate failure of those we place in power, to communicate. The countries of the world should be working in harmony toward a common goal. There are many challenges we face, without wasting our precious resources killing each other. Do you honestly think any justice would have been served to try to fight a faceless enemy? To have done that would have brought death to countless innocent men,women and children.To this day our government does not know who was responsible for the attack on our Marines!
My son served 4 years with the 31st MEU Marines Special Operations.I would truly love to be witness to you making that same statement in his presence!
being a Marine is not a as simple as joining the military.To become a Marine,you have to "earn" the right to wear the uniform. Marines are the most feared branch of military in this entire world!They are always ready for service and are often the first to arrive in a crisis.They may be called upon at any time to go anywhere.The Marine Corps is the only branch of the armed services "specifically" organized with air,land and sea based expeditionary fighting capabilities.Courage is not the absence of fear. It is the ability to face fear and overcome it. It is the mental, moral, and physical strength that is ingrained in Marines. It carries them through every challenge, and aids them in facing the unknown.If becoming a Marine were easy, anybody could do it. Marines are tasked with responsibilities that require complete and intensive training.To a Marine,failure is not an option!

You must be talking about beirut Marine barracks bombing. I talked to a Master gunnery sergeant who servived the blast. Terrorists hit the BLT (battalion landing team) barracks. BLT is the main ground combat element of the Marine Expeditionary Unit. With 241 BLT Marines dead, the MEU can't function to its full capabilities. After recovery missions were over, the president ordered them to come back. MEU only lasts up to 9 months. Besides, 24th MEU had to go fight in grenada so they could not replace the 22nd MEU. Marines as individuals don't get to decide to "run away".

the marines scare the crap out of the terrorists, for good reason. Kill ratio of better than 1-100. It was not the marines that ran, in 1983, they just followed orders of a president and pulled out.

why are you trying to prove the marines arent tough? what are you trin to prove to everyone by trin to find this out? every branch of the military has there "set names" like how the marines are the toughest etc. Do you know why they ran? Do you know what happen after they ran? Did they come back ect ect. Every branch of the military has its good points and bad, its just the different situations that bring it out, but it doesnt mean EVERY branch is like that, the people change every year. Situations in the world change everyday. Thats one account and it happen in 83'. The year is now 2006 its a completely different era now.

You are talking about the bombing of the marine barracks in BEIRUT ,LEBANON and no marines are definitely not soft they are tough and i dare you u to become one and see what its like.
