im moving out to RI and i am not familiar with the waters out there. I hear there are big blue in the bay, but is there brackish water as well? I would assume that the stripers move into some freshwater ares, but are there red fish in the area as well?

Being a lifelong resident of Rhode Island until 2004 as well as an avid angler in the bay for many years, I have never heard of a red caught in RI waters. Yes there is brackish water in the bay, but you have to travel up the bay to the Blackstone River. If you are looking to catch stripers, that can be done up and down the coast and anywhere inbetween (Coves & Inlets). Once you are in RI you might want to try to fish Misquamicut Beach, Gallalie and Jamestown-Newport bridges. I now live in Northern California and I do miss the fishing back home. It is like I had to learn all over again. I wish you well and I hope you find the "OCEAN STATE" a great place to live. Good luck and good fishing
