You find the answer to that one, you let me know. I've woken up in the middle, cracked my knuckles, and gone back to sleep. It's like a really weird addiction. And then it hurts if you don't crack them. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

I use to do it also, my grandmother use to tell me that I will get arthritis by doing it. That didn't stop, what did was finally realizing how annoying it was to the people around me and not lady like. I do still crack them from time to time. I will take some time but you will be able to stop or not do it as much. As a matter of fact just for $hits and giggles I am going to crack them right know, let's do it together, lol. You'll be fine, much love.

I am that same way too. But when I start to move my hand to crack them, I just don't do it. You need to stay away from this.
Cracking your knuckles can give you arthritus earlier than if you hadn't ever popped your knuckles. Yes, your knuckles will get bigger when you pop your knuckles.
I strongly suggest to quit this habbit!

You gotta stop, cuz you can get arthritis. I know it's difficult to stop, (I had a prob. too last year) but when I think about the arthritis, it makes me stop, but to stop the really bad urges to crack 'em, I would just stretch my fingers alot. I'm double jointed by the way, so I'm not positive if this will/will not help you. p.s. my chiropractor says it can give people arthritus, so I don't believe it's simply "a myth"

You don't get arthitis from cracking your knuckles... It's a myth. All it is is releasing air between your joints.. it is annoying but I quit simply by doing something to distract yourself. It'll be really hard. But if you don't stop you don't have to worry about any life-long problems

The arthritis line is a myth. Excercising your hands/ fingers with stretching will help, although they may crack when you do it.
Do it when you are alone if you care what people listening think.
