Salt is an enhancer. It make the the food better by bringing out flavors out. A spice is a condiment made out of any bark, seed, root, shell,berry, stem, flower...etc, herb is made out the green part of the plant that is not stalk. So salt is not an spice. Check out the kinds of salt that exists. They are awsome, check the Hawaiian red salt...

As salt is a mineral (rock) and not a vegetable product, I'd say that no, salt is not a spice. Salt is a type of seasoning. Spices are seasonings, but not all seasonings are spices. See below for more info.
The Merriam-Webster definition of spice is "any of various aromatic vegetable products (as pepper or nutmeg) used to season or flavor foods."
The Merriam-Webster definition of seasoning is "something that serves to season; especially : an ingredient (as a condiment, spice, or herb) added to food primarily for the savor that it imparts ."

Technically, it's a chemical. But I still wouldn't call salt a spice, it's more of a general seasoning. I consider spices to have an actual flavour, versus just saltiness.

Nope. Because salt is made by crystalization, extraction. And spices are all made but naturally grown plants.

Of course! Maybe some people don't consider it a spice because it goes into nearly every recipe, but it most certainly is.

Technically, salt is a "seasoning", even though it is a single ingredient. (Black Pepper is both a seasoning and a spice! Go figure!)

SALT IS ONE OF THE VERY FEW MINERALS THAT CAN BE CONSUMED BY HUMANS....ITS BAISICALLY A ROCK AND ITS CHEMICAL NAME IS SODIUM CHLORIDE. IT IS A COMPLETE SEPERATE BREED FROM A SPICE.
