Get away? For what legitimate purpose would they target them? It was obviously an accident of war. Israel has already sent apologies to the member countries, and will most likely offer compensation to the families of the observers killed.

That, of course, assumes they really were unarmed, and not firing at Israeli aircraft.

Its called indiscrimminately attacking a region. its the least rascist way to bomb a country back to the stone age. The Israelis follow American tactics closely.
Dresden, Hiroshima and Nagasaki and most of Vietnam was indiscrimminate strategic bombing. Just wipe em out. It goes back to the Inquisition of the Church-"Kill them all-God will know his own."
Silly tactic.
war is silly though

Same as a truckload of British soldiers did to get bombed to death by the Americans in the Gulf war.

In all liklihood the observers were killed accidentally. Wars tend to be messy and its not hard for a shell or bomb to go astray.

The observers were not intentionally attacked. They were there where the bombs fell as Israel continues to defend itself against its Arab neighbors who have sworn to destroy her. They did not kill "UNARMED" observers as you imply, as though they knew they were there and killed them in cold blood. Sorry, but your question is dumb!!

Chow!!

As the Bushies would put it, "it was 'collateral damage'". That is Conservative speak for "blown to bits".

What did they do? Work for the UN. For many Conservatives that's as good as a deeath sentence.

Probably just had some really bad luck going for them. This sort of thing happens in war, which is why we probably shouldn't have so many of them.

Although the UN is a blatant enemy of Israel, there is no way Israel would bomb their installations on purpose.
