Love P.V. but don't spend much time on the beaches, for that I head south to Costalegre area.

Agreed. Nuevo Vallarta because it's the most recently developed area. But most beautiful and cleanest water that I've seen is in La Mismaloya. Absolutely beautiful. Dreams resort has a private beach, but it ain't La Mismaloya. Avoid downtown areas if you're looking for la playa. Dirty there. Have fun.
