I've been to them all and finally decided that the Church of Scotland is perhaps the best. There seems to be so many controlling people in churches, too much hype/so called miracles/so called gifts but I can't find simple christianity where people genuinely love each other without plastic smiles and are there for each other with a mutual love for Jesus. I can't find people who will talk about God outside of church......what's happening to the church.....has anyone else come across this in the UK ? At least in the church of Scotland people come across as normal and not oddballs.

This my friend is the problem of all churches. They don't teach in the pulpit enough about respecting each other with the Love of Christ, they don't teach that people shoud share the gosple outside the church. But the Church of Scotland will have things that will annoy ohter Christians to. But if youy enjoy this style then that's obviously where God wants you. Rememeber though that if you are looking for the perfect church, if you find it don't for goodnes sake join it. You'll only spoil it.

Well I am not a fan of the Church of Scotland, I find that the style of worship far too austere and plain for my liking but that does not mean that I don't appreciate the fact that others get satisfaction from it. Hope that you are not representative of the C of S thinking that your Church is marvellous and that everyone else is the "oddball" - not very Charitable, nor Christian!

I used to think this about my Church. I was about to leave to look for a different Church when God urged me to get involved with some of the Church's work. After getting to know some of the people and then getting involved with more ministry and getting to know the rest of the people I discovered that the problem was within me not the people around me. I was walking around with a judgemental attitude and making up my mind about people when I didn't bother to get to know them. I found that most of us are trying our best for our God but are still just human so we make mistakes. Try to be more forgiving towards your fellow Christians - it's well worth it.

true some Pastors make there own rules and expect us to follow, what has happened to Love your neighbor ,or the 10 commandments, now its you cant talk to anyone that is not of this church, you have to dress a certain way, and when you leave, your not covered by Jesus blood any more this happened to me last week,we didn't submit to the pastor because my husband has a mustache,so we are back sliders now,and the pastor told the church not to speak to us because of this now we are looking for a new church, which will be hard, because we are so close to the last days that many churches have flaws in them.

How about a church that left behind all the man made traditions and strives to return to the essential forms of worship as practised by the early Christians? You might try the following

You have to make your own choice. Go where you are challenged and where you can develop. I'm a Baptist and I get a lot out of my church and I think contribute a lot to my church.

The plymouth brethren have few rules and everyone is equal. they have no ministers, they do things as the spirit leads. I've almost convinced myself to go and join them.
