What will the religious preference demographics of the United States look like in 2099?
A) The percentage of those who are "religious" will be a higher one then in 2006.
B) The percentage of those who are "religious" will be a lesser one than in 2006.
C) About the same.
My friends, we've seen a lot of stuff in the first 6 years of this Century. Intelligent design is a big issue, Gay rights is also a big issue.
I for one am prepared to dig in my heals and fight the good fight.

I don't believe that the USA as we know it will exist in 2099, or the world. God will not allow the world to follow the route that it is choosing for very long... The time has really come and the Lord is taking peace from the earth. Watch and see. I post the below scriptures because I believe that it is happening right now..
Rev 6:4 And there went out another horse that was red: and power was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword.

Well, right now, the demographic is about 87% believers in the USA. I would like to think that by the end of the century, rational people would outnumber the deluded masses. Unfortunately, by 2099, it is likely to be 100% believers... if the Dominionists and Christian Reconstructionalists have their way. Why? Because all the non-believers, and incorrect-believers will have been stoned to death or burned at the stake by then.
Dominionists have largely usurped the local level political apparatus of the Republican Party, and are engaged in a sub rosa process to politically motivate moderate Christians under the false cover of religious issues such as morality and family values. The goal is nothing less than the takeover of all elective offices in the USA.
Their doctrine comes from the Bible, starting with the term 'dominion' at Genesis 1:28... “And God said unto them, [Adam and Eve] Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth and subdue it; and have DOMINION… over every living thing.” They interpret DOMINION as: “... a supremacy in determining and directing the actions of others or in governing politically, socially, or personally.”
They want to remake the USA as a theocracy... and they are succeeding.
So, by all means... take a stand. Do something... for we are sowing the seeds of our own destruction, while these religious nut-jobs are awaiting God's demolition job. We need all the help we can get.

Throughout the years religion is becoming a less important part of society. While a few years back it was a must to go to church every Sunday or you would be frowned upon, it has become less common nowadays. Most of the kids I know now don't go to church, don't believe in God or simply don't care much for religion.

C (About the same). Now the REALLY interesting question is, WHAT will the religious people believe in? Those who define themselves as Christians in 2099, will they agree with Christians of today? Will Gay marriage be a big deal? Will we have found evidence of intelligent life elsewhere?

Intelligent design is a pseudo science that was only invented because no one could defend Creation anymore.
Gay rights are human rights and are guaranteed in the US constitution.The pursuit of happiness is different for everybody.

I don't know (but, hey, I'm an agnostic and say that almost all the time).
If Al Gore's "An Undeniable Truth" is correct, it really won't matter because we'll probably have managed to kill ourselves off by then...
But, hey, that's natural selection for ya!

I would say B. The more families that come forward about fathers and priests molesting their boys the more followers they will lost!
