i cooked a sweet potato pie and it didnt look like it was supposed too it was orange the color of sweet potato

i was just wondering what did i do wrong....arent they supposed too look brown instead of orange i don't know thats the first one ive ever made
tasted ok though

Sweet Potato pies will typically be more orange than say a pumpkin pie. There is a much higher content of Beta Carotene in sweet potatoes. If it tastes good I don't see why it's a problem...eat and enjoy...(we add a little softened cream cheese to heavy whipping cream before whipping with sugar and vanilla extract for a tangier whipped cream...)

Did it taste good? Are u thinking of pumpkin pie? Its a different between sweet potato and pumpkin with textures and colors.

Sweet potatoes are more heavy taste than pumpkin pie .. Sweet potatoes have more orange than pumkpkin which always brown..

So enjoy ur sweet potato pie with whipping cream or an ice cream . its a go, friend!

It doesn't matter how "off" the color is, as long as is tastes right. It depends on how long you cook the potatoes in the oven and how much sugar you add that makes it change color. Brown sweet potatoe pies are perfectly fine.

As long as it tastes good, who cares what it looks like. This just means the recipe you used didn't have a lot of brown sugar in it. If you really want it to look brown, add some red and green food colouring.

they aren't necessarily supposed to be brown... the more Cinnamon and brown sugar you add to it the more brown the color will be
