if you have the SN then just call winchester up and ask them whatever it is you want to know. I just called winchester about a .30-30 i have and they told me what year it was made, when they stopped making that model, and they even sent me an owners manual for free.

If you're referring to the serial number it should be stamped/engraved on the receiver or perhaps on the barrel near the breech.
