Kind of a touchy question but if they need intensive care and they have assets then yes, they should allow their funds to be used for their own care or to help their children IF their kids are having a hardship...otherwise, no.

I dont fully, understand the question but I am eager to hear a explanation by the question fully.
So your asking should elderly parents be charged with paying the adult children? for taking care of them?
I think it would all depends on the circumstances, and finacial means, etc. If the Elderly parent is placing to much expense as in astronomical then I would check into it and find out what the rights and laws were for your state.
But in some ways, I know as parents put out alot of money and then some to raise children some more then others. so I guess it just depends on each person. but you can check into it within your state if you wish.

For heaven's sake, no. Assuming that your parents took care of you as a child and provided for your well-being and whatnot, then the least one can do is to return the favor when the parents need help. It would be a terrific slap in the face and one heck of an insult to charge your parents for such care.

Nope, parents should not have to pay their kids to take care of they. They sure didn't charge their kids to raise them.

As a matter of fact, just this last March, I quit working and moved back home to take care of my parents. I gave up a good paying job of 5 years and a house, to move back home to take care of my parents, I want to enjoy them now while they are still here with me. Dad is 83 and mom is 72. Dad is going down fast. I would rather take care of them my self as to hire some one take care of them.At least I know this way they are being treated right.

No, they should not, they feed and clothed their children as did their parents and I'm sure they took care of their parents when they became elderly. It takes a village to raise a child.

I could see if your getting a $1000 a month from the gov't, putting it into a bank account where that would be used for your care, especially if money is tight to begin with but technically you should have very little expenses living with someone else. But thats just me!

Obviously not. Just like the parents wouldn't even consider charging their kids for taking care of them when they were young.

If they are living in a place the adult children own, then half their Social Security check would be appropriate for room and board.

No. Freedom of religion ability ALL faith regardless of what Arthwit Rail thinks. I easily have a extra ideal question: might want to Christians be presented up on prices of kid Endangerment for coaching them from a e book that usually contradicts itself? Rev. Dr. Donald Betz D.D.

Absolutely not! It is the adult child's responsibility to care for their aging parents. Just as it is a parents responsibility to care for their young.
