I think given the age that you must be to be entering middle school, most everything new must be a little scary. You just need to hold your head up high and remember, there a re a lot of others there that are scared too. Being a little leery of thing is not always bad, just so it doesn't cause you to miss out on all the good things in life. Try it! You'll like it!

I've always had this theory that middle school is where kids go bad. Up until that point you are too young and naive to do anything wrong. Fall in with the wrong crowd in middle school and you are pretty much stuck with them all the way through high school resulting in nothing but good.

It's not scary persay, but kind of intimidating with new interactions and stuff.

Yes, middle school is "just school" but those years are some of the most difficult and confusing in a young person's life. Between growing up and away from childhood and the playground, to interest in the opposite sex, puberty and "being cool", not to mention all the regular stresses and pressures of the school part of things, it's a lot for a young person to handle. Somehow, we all do. You (or whoeever you are concerned about) will learn a lot about yourself and other people along the way. It will be important to have good friends and adult role models.

Only if you're a parent :)

No, seriously... it's just another grade up and as the other person said, a great way to wipe your slate clean and start over if you had a tough time making friends before.

The cool part is that you usually get to change classes instead of having the same teacher all... day.... long... which can get old, no matter how good your teacher is.

Also you get to take classes you've probably never had a chance to before... like REAL art classes and higher level band and foreign languages and the science classes have laboratories and you do experiments and there are computer classes and all sorts of cool stuff.

You're gonna love it :)

Honest answer; yes, like most new things, starting middle school will probably be scary at first. However, as you get used to it, it becomes routine. You will enjoy yourself sometimes, and want to die others. It is all part of your age and growing up.

Advice, GET INVOLVED NOW!!! As scary as middle school may seem, high school seems worse. High school is much more enjoyable if you are part of something whether it is sports or clubs, whatever.

Don't worry, everything will be fine. Good luck, and be yourself. Don't "act cool", just know who you are and stick to it.

I'm not sure it's scary but I will be teaching at a middle school for the first time in my 30 year career. I'm not scared but I am apprehensive.

I wouldn't say it's scary, but it is a big change from the fresh out of diapers type atmosphere of elementary school. It's faster paced, there's more students, and the school in most cases will be way larger then an elementary school is, so it does take a little getting used to.

No absolutely not just on the first couple days of school you will probably get lost looking for your classes, but don't be embarrassed, because there are probably about fifty other students that did the same thing.
