Love of Money, eh? Sooo, People partake in pornography, because they want money?
So I cheated on my homework because I, uh, want money...
Bull crap.
Would Eve have sinned, had she not been tempted? Who is ultimatley responsible then? Satan or Eve?
Did God tempt us with the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil?
The root of all evil is....God.
For God to be perfect, there must be some sort of standard by which "perfect" can be distinquished. Perfect, in the theological sense, means like God. God created the things that are unlike himself, whether real or hypothetical. Satan has no power to create. Where did rebellion come from then?
Humans are not the only creatures to exhibit feelings and actions of greed. Have you ever been witness to a dog who steals a bone, or food from another?
Dogs, however, lack the knowledge of good and evil, therefore are not held responsible for their actions.
But we know. We ate the fruit.
So then, knowledge? It that the root?
Perhaps.
Without humans, there will be no money, but we have caused corruption in the world. Animals will always eat one another, even without humans around.
Evil is not human.
Humans are not evil.
But Evil is everywhere.

Semantics! Neither money nor the love of money is behind every evil thing in the world. Good and evil as we know them are purely subjective human judgments. There would not be either in the world without someone saying "this is good, this is evil."
Suppose there was a man who lived next door to you and no one liked him, but since you are his neighbor, he confides in you. He tells you that he has a large sum of money stashed under his mattress. One day, he decides to abuse your dog, a pit bull. The dog kills him. The police come and take the body away, they question you a little bit, but no one comes to clear out the house. You have his spare key and you go in the house and take a couple million dollars in cash out from under the dead guy's mattress. Is there someone good and someone evil in this story? Did something good happen and did something evil happen?
Most people would agree that at the root of all bad behavior is some kind of selfishness, whether that is selfishness with money or with food or with attention or love or whatever else. Not listening to the opinions of others is a type of selfishness that sometimes leads to an escalating conflict- even to a war. But we all have to be somewhat selfish to survive, don't we.
In the animal kingdom, survival is what is good and not surviving long enough to breed is bad. But carnivores have to eat to survive and that is good for the eater, but bad for the eaten. Only humans make judgements about so many things being either good or bad and often what is good for one is bad for another.
I am ready to give a fuller answer now: Absolutism and oversimplification are the root of all evil. The root of goodness is to have respect for others. I hope this helps.

Nope, money is not evil. It's the lubricant that keeps the economic system moving both at global and local levels.
Money is just a tool and a very beneficial tool indeed. A lot of people blame money as evil being driven by an over simplified world view. Money is not value, money is just a storage of value aiding value movement across space and time.
If you are talking about evils, it's human desire for comfort and happiness and power that make people do evil. If not for money, there would be evil for foods, shelters and cloths, may be even other items.

Many will say the root of evil is the Love of Money. Envy, greed, coveting of what others have all at times are brought on by money or the lack of it. Essentially though even if you had all the money you ever would need you would still be in competition with others or find a sin to limit you such as hate or looking down on others as being less than you are. The root of all evil is sin itself in whatever form you choose to look at it in. Being apart from God's will and desire and relying upon yourself being another cause.

You are right man and man's teachings And the 7 deadly sins are man's creation, but you see the Bible tells that it's the "striving" for the constant reaching out for, 1 Timothy 6:9 However, those who are determined to be rich fall into temptation, and a snare and many senseless and hurtful desires, which plunge men into destruction and ruin. 10 For the love of money is A root of all sorts of injurious things, and by reaching out for this LOVE some have been led astray from the faith and have stabbed themselves all over with many pains, Matthew 6:33 Keep on then seeking first the kingdom and his righteousness, and all these [other] things will be added to you.

This is one of the mos miss-quoted phrases in all of the christian faith. Money is not the root of all evil, it is the LOVE of money that is the root of all evil. Money by its self is neither good nor evil it is a thing but when you value money more than mercy or more than another human being that is evil.

Money is just inanimate material but it does enable you to do a lot of great things if you have some. In itself it is neither good nor evil as it is definitely not sentient although I'm open to being corrected on this. What concerns us is how we feel about not having any.

Neither money nor the love of money are the root of all evil.
The really big evils are all caused by governments and other forms of authority.
