What is a good substitute for eggs?

2 tbsp corn starch = 1 egg
2 tbsp arrowroot flour = 1 egg
2 tbsp potato starch = 1 egg
1 heaping tbsp soy powder + 2 tbsp water = 1 egg
1 tbsp soy milk powder + 1 tbsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp water = 1 egg.
1 banana = 1 egg in cakes

I used to have a severe allergy to eggs as well. I could not eat the whites only the yolks. However sometimes when I wanted say scrambled eggs I would melt butter in a pan and saute cubed tofu and it sort of tasted like scrambled eggs after you put salt pepper and maybe a little hot sauce on it.

well, i can't suggest something that will cook like scrambled eggs, or that you can make a souffle with.

but you can use a mix of oil ( or butter) and milk to replace eggs in some recipes. add a drop of yellow food color if the color is important to you.

these might help.

2 tbsp corn starch = 1 egg
2 tbsp arrowroot flour = 1 egg
2 tbsp potato starch = 1 egg
1 heaping tbsp soy powder + 2 tbsp water = 1 egg
1 tbsp soy milk powder + 1 tbsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp water = 1 egg.
1 banana = 1 egg in cakes.

You should find out if you are allergic to the yolk or the whites. If its one OR the other, then you could eat which ever one you aren't allergic too. Other than that, I don't think there is another substitute.

normally they just give extra moisture so just add more milk or water. you might want to try a simple recipe first.
