How much was found, where was it found, did you see anyone around it that could have dropped it or did someone come back to the area later looking for it and you were too shame or unwilling to give back the money, did you spend it and if so what was it spent on or did you turn it in and what was the outcome of being honest?

Four times I've turned in wallets but three of them were empty of cash when I saw them. One had 30-40 bucks in them.

Saw a US$100 bill in the airport bar in Los Cabos Mexico. Went over and picked it up. Sat back down and pondered what to do. I figured if I called out, "Anyone lose a 100 dollar bill?", I'd have more than one taker. So I kept looking around until my plane departed for anyone searching, asking or looking around on the floor. No one did.

I didn't spend it on anything in particular.

I was amazed at the news reports, years ago, of the guy who found $200,000 or so in the trunk of his rental car. Turned it in to the local police. No one claimed it. The police department kept it under the logic that is was drug money and there are seizure laws that allows PDs to keep drug proceeds, cars, boats and such. Well, sure, it was drug money. But if the PD can't connect the dots and prove it, I'd say the honest guy should have received it.

Yes, at a McDonald's I found a wallet in the bathroom. It was sitting right on the sink-open. I looked at the pictures first. There were all these little faces of toddlers looking out at me, and they were cute as can be. Then I looked in the billfold and there were hundreds of dollars. I walked out of the restroom. It was around the Christmas holidays, and a cop was standing in the store. I handed it to him, and in a booming voice he asked if anyone had lost a wallet.. Everybody started looking in their pants pocket or purse. Finally, a woman came up and claimed it. She looked at me and pulled out five bucks and tried to hand it to me. I didn't take it. I never regretted giving it back. I'm not religious or anything, but I have always believed that what you give comes back ten fold. So far it has.

YES............two years ago when I was with NO JOB and only had about two months worth of money. I picked up a scuffy looking
envelope that had $150 in it. I decided to not put up a flyer because if someone will lie to get a dollar bill (have experienced this) I could only imagine the hassle I would get out of a flyer for 150 in an unmarked envelope.
