The best thing near the Louvre is Palais Royal, its an amazing patio with black and white striped columns. When i lived in Paris I loved that old restaurant Le Grand Vefour.
In the Louvre by far my favorite is the Self-Portrait with flowers, Albrecht Dürer (1493). The painter is german and its a lovely piece of art.

Bathsheba at her Bath-Rembrandt...I love the dipictin of the female body...its so real..so feminine and beautiful...unlike the stick figures of today's culture

the upside down pyramid. right across the street on the champs elyesse is an awesome bar (pub?) that serves 48oz beer. love that place too.
