All three should be reliable basic transportation. The Yaris should get the best mpg if that matters to you.

Carolla may last longer than Civic. But Civic is more stylish and easier to get parts for. Yaris is new, so I'm not sure how it compares yet. It does get the best gas mileage though. That will help your budget.

Honda Civics are in high demand and therefore generally speaking are overpriced. If you are looking for the biggest bang for your buck check out the Hyundai Accent. Hyundai is a well established reputable company that produces a quality product at a reasonable price with a great warranty.

The toyota carolla is a better and much more reliable car especially for a first time buyer. That is the kind of car that is durable and will grow with you and if taken care of last a lifetime

it depends on what do you like. personally i like honda civic better than toyota. the honda represents youngness and prestige the corolla represents old grannys.

honda civic is really low maint. and if there are usually a lot of dealerships/mechanics that will service them. they also last a very long time, and have the most customizable options.

they are also very cheap.
