All the above are correct. Checking in online saves time if you are not checking bags. Most airports have self check in kiosks and you can check yourself in by using a credit or debit card, anything with a magnetic strip, it will just read your name, wont charge your credit card or record any information about you. Just be aware of check in cut offs. Most major airports is 45 minutes before departure. This means you must be physically checked in, not standing in line.
All you need is a valid unexpired government issued photo ID such as your drivers liscense. You dont have to have the print out, just know your flight numbers, destination or connection cities and departure times. It is however easier to hand the agent the itinerary if you cant remember all of that. There should be a barcode at the top and you can scan that at the kiosk as well.
Your departure gates are printed on the boarding pass and the ticket agent will tell you and write the gate number on the ticket jacket when they give you the boarding pass. If you need directions, they will instruct you. You can go to the airports website and print out a map so that you are familiar with the airport lay out and have a sense of where you need to go. You can log on to NWA.com and it usually posts arrivals and departure gates if you go to track the flight. The airports websites have the information as well. Gates usually are the same every day, so enter the info as if it were today's flight.
Enjoy your flight and dont hesitate to ask any agent any question you might have.
You can also go online and change your seats if you want a better seat. Exit rows are the best, but if this is your first flight, you might not want to sit there. Emergency exits are rare, but you have to be willing and able to assist should the need arise. Its extra leg room, but some people get stuck on the stigma of sitting there.

24 hours prior to your departure you should be about to go back to nwa.com and 'check in'. Doing this will allow you to print you boarding pass. With your itinerary, a valid government issued photo ID (a driver's licence is perfect) you go to the airport aiming to be at the airport 90 minutes prior to your flight. Showing your boarding pass and ID you will pass through security and go right to the gate where you aircraft is or will be parked.
Have a great trip!

Oh, how great! Just take your ticket/itinerary to the NWA counter (if someone drops you off, just go to the outside counter, otherwise you'll need to go inside) and give them your info and ID. They'll tell you what to do from there. Good luck and congrats!
PS: If you're at the outside counter with the skycaps, you'll need a couple bucks for a tip!

If you are leaving your car at the airport, take a shuttle and they will drop you off right at the entrance near NWA.
You need to drop your baggage off - so either do that curbside, or go to the NWA ticket counter and check it there. You will get a boarding pass (unless you already have one) and will then be directed to the gate where your plane will take off. Be sure to have your photo id handy, because you will need it at the ticket counter and again to get through to the gate.
Have fun.

you can probably print your boarding pass within 24 hours of the flight from your home...but just go to the desk for nwa and hand them ur id and the itinerary, check your bags...and ask which way to go and what gate....go through security, dont have anything metal like scissors or pocket knives...no cigarette lighters....put all ur carry ons through the scanner...walk through the metal detector...then off you go to your gate....
