depends. If it was an unsolicited call then yeah I would. I've had silly moos putting the phone down on me when I've called a call centre so I have no problems cutting them off either. My mum is always nice on the phone even if it's not a good time, maybe it's an age thing.

Two steps to freedom from call centre harassment:
1. Register with the Telephone Preference Service
2. Inform anyone who rings from a call centre that you're registered with the TPS.
You will then find that they hang up on you as soon as they hear this, they don't usually know what to say.

I have spoken to call centres, mostly based in bangalore india, and they are rude, arrogant, talk firmly through and can be most abusive, so it is not rude to put the phone down on these rude and unhelpful people.

I think its OK to put the phone down as long as you give warning that you are about to do it. I am sure people who work in call centres get it all the time.

I onced worked in a call centre and somebody put the phone down on me. I rang them back and said that I thought that they had a problem with their phone as we got cut off. I said that if they wanted to I would report the fault for them. Got nattering and I ended up getting a sale off them.
So be careful.

Yes it is rude, it's sad when you are at work but you just have to grin and bear it. I know people can make you do rude things but it is your job to stay professional. It is easier said than done, trust honey, we still fall victim no matter how hard we try. Somebody will and can push you to that point. It takes time to be able to cope, you will be fine just put yourself in that persons shoes, and know that everybody isn't dealing with a full deck. Good luck.

depends...... if it was an unsoliceted telemarketing type call then no, they are intruding unasked into your life.
If you phoned them for something then yeah its rude.
I used to work in a call centre and I always did my best to help people with their problems yet some people were downright rude, some were highly insulting and some were even threatening (stupid really, I was on the phone, its not like they could punch me or anything).
Manners cost nothing but are worth a hell of a lot!!! :-)

When they ask me ANY personal questions I tell them I don't answer personal questions put to me by strangers that I haven't personally given my telephone number to. Then I put the phone down. No you are not rude, they do their best to keep you on the phone, so you did the right thing.

it particularly is truthfully between the main considerable offensive questions I certainly have seen at suitable right here. some atheists choose to demonise christians yet so do many so suggested as christians. Many atheists are very smart human beings no longer believing interior the invisible without being shown evidence isn't some sign of an attempt to demonise people who do believe, yet then they arrive interior the process christians who demonise themselves and that's a real turn off. God does not choose human beings to learn undesirable behaviour so whilst human beings are continuously mocking and insulting God will close their religious eyes and not open them for you for hassle you will prepare them the undesirable behaviour alongside with the be huge unsleeping.

It is rude to hang up on someone. Then again, it's also rude for callers to not listen when you say you're not interested. They keep going on and on. If the person was persistent and wouldn't take "no" for an answer, then hang up. If the person just stated where she/he was calling from and you know she/he is a telemarketer, just let that person know you're not interested before hanging up.
