Ernest Renan, French historian and religious scholar:

“Jesus was the greatest religious genius that ever lived. His beauty is eternal, and his reign shall never end. Jesus is in every way unique, and nothing can be compared to him.”

Famous Napoleon Bonaparte quotes about Jesus Christ:

“His religion is a revelation from an intelligence which is certainly not that of a man.”

“I know men; and I tell you Jesus Christ is not a man. Superficial minds see a resemblance between Christ and the founders of empires, and the gods of other religions. That resemblance does not exist.”

So, a scholar and a nortorious madman/ruler of France said this....Are they leading authorities???

Jesus was a great genius of religion. He knew the OT inside and out. That is how he was able to fool the world by modeling his entire life after the prophencies of the OT....this is what led to him being called a God, when in fact he was nothing more than a very intelligent mortal.

Please read The Jesus Papers to learn more about the history of the times Jesus was raised, how he modeled his life, and how this was all an elaborate plan BEFORE his birth by the Zealots - a group of Jews in Egypt at that time... The marraige of Joseph and Mary was arranged, because Joseph was a member of the House of Israel, and Mary was a member of the House of David. And the messiah was supposed to be of BOTH houses - so the marraige was arranged and the son of the marriage (Jesus) was modeled into that Messiah so as to deliver Jerusalem from Rome.

History is really so much more interesting than the religious BS that has grown up to mask the real story...

The important truth about Jesus Christ is not what others think about him but what you, yourself, think about Him and who he IS?

Christ will be described in so many different ways, both negative and positive, however the important question is what you personally think of Christ, his message, and who he was and what he said he was.

These are just opinions by historical figures. If these are seen as true statements it can be considered a fallacy known as appeal to authority.

This means because of these people's status you view their statements as truth regardless of their actual truth value.

I believe it is. The fact that God's son and our Savior is reflected in the historical record gives me additional faith in the Holy Word.
