The killer did it.
In this case happens to be the maid and the butler working together. Why is the butler cleaning the closet? That's the maid's job. And why is the maid getting the mail? That's the butler's job.

THE MAID WAS NOT GETTING THE MAIL, SHE WAS GETTING THE MALE! AND IT WAS NOT THE BOSS MAN (YOU SEE THE BUTLER MADE THE MAID), THE WIFE WAS SLEEPING, WITH THE COOK AND THE GARDENER.

He was cleaning the closet because it had bloodstains in it from when he hid the corpse in there. See, even though the husband was "found" on Sunday morning, he probably died Saturday night.
