Yes. They like humans can also get skin infections. Unfortunatley now days our pets pick up a lot of human problems such as allergies, congestion, skin infections, diabetes, etc.

You need to be careful on how you treat your dogs skin problem because there could be an allergy reaction going on there and whatever you do may turn out to be worse. The best thing for your best friend is to see a Vet. If you can not afford one there are animal hospitals based on your income nad they are wonderful. Good luck.

"My puppy is a German Shepherd and he is an outdoor dog. " Well gee, there's your answer right there. Why is your PUPPY LIVING outdoors? Shame on you! He should be INDOORS! And for this reason, they can pick up many diseases. The dog could have mange. We can't tell you, only your VET can. * Oh I know you can't be that dumb. WHY DID YOU GET A LARGE DOG THEN??? Seriously? You SHOULD feel like crap! Good job! He's a PUPPY he should be INDOORS. Did you actually have a SKIN SCRAPING done? Why bother figuring out what it is? You don't care about the dog anyway. You just dumped it in the back yard. Why bother?

Dermatitis is extremely common in dogs. You may notice increased scratching in areas or even obsessive licking. Your dog may even loose hair because of this.

There is medication available to help treat it. Try adding food to the diet that has Omega 3 and 6 fatty acid. And get the dog to the vet just in-case it is something more serious.
