That is the biggest lie that I have ever read. It is an Iranian newspaper, why not quote an Iraqi newspaper, you may be able to smear our brave servicemen even more.
The Iraq war has less casualties at less than 10% of any war in history. Vietnam had 13,000 US soldiers deaths a year, 48,600 US soldiers a year, & etc. In Iraq because of better training, better soldiers, & better equipment we have lost less than 861 soldiers a year, Too many but we have given more for freedom & safety.
You are an embarrassment to all Americans & your parents too!

Yes it is sad anytime anyone loses their life. You have to keep in mind though our casualty rate is incredibly low....this is like the walmart blue light special of wars. When you invade and take over a country and then get involved in a low level guerrilla war and you have as many people in harms way as we do in Iraq and Afghanistan our casualties should be much higher. I think we can attribute this to the great training ,equipment and medical response our troops have received. I know everything is not perfect but then in war what is.

Of course it's sad for them, however they have sworn to obey their Commander in Chief (Butthead Bush) and so they must do what he says.
I know, I was in the Gulf War and we may not have agreed with leaving Saddam there, but those were our orders. Our mission was to get the Iraqis out of Kuwait. Once we did that, we were done.
Just support our troops in every way possible. I'm afraid that these new military veterans will be as scarred as our Vietnam Vets were due to the psychological nature of the warfare they are enduring. It's a very sad thing.
We have to vote and let our wishes be known to our government.

I just have to step in here and say that as American's, yes we do have the right to say this war is wrong and question our government. People have died in wars past to make sure we have these rights. My husband is a soldier and so are many of my friends. I am against the war, but I will support each and every person who goes to fight in the war, being against the war or against the government doesn't mean that you are against the brave men and women who make up our troops.

When my brother hit Vietnam he had just turned 18.He said it took 2 weeks to see that he wasn't there to protect the South Vietnamese, that it was all for Big Business. Protecting their interests, but also for the War Machine to make money by selling arms. When he was discharged after 2 years in Vietnam, he and other troops with him were to receive a medal from a high ranking official. He told me that they all said to the official to shove it up his assssssss. My Father also served during WW2, he said that wars were always preplanned and that it was good for wall street. I have talked to other Vets from various wars and they all have pretty much the same stories. Maybe it's time for you young people to start talking to older vets and hearing what stories they have to tell. You should hear the truth about Pat Tillman. His brother said that he hated the war and that he was going to go public with what he knew.............but it was too late........someone shot him in the head. Alot of things are purposely being held back from the public. Makes one wonder if Tillman wouldn't have been assassinated, his story would have hit the press and the Presidents last election would have been lost. THE TRUTH SHALL SET US FREE>.............................................

I served my country for 20 years and anyone who has every enlisted will tell you, you volunterred knowing you were in the military. I hate to see our service people die in combat or peace time, however, if you are in the military, you know what you signed up for. How do you know the war is wrong? You should be sitting back finding ways to support your military because they sure are doing a hard job to make sure you can sit at home and post questions like this. Shame on you.

They volunteered to get shot at, pure and simple. I'm serving as well and I know that no one forced them to sign up. If someone joins the US military to "see the world" they are wrong or signed up for the wrong reason. That may be a perk but the reason, and no recruiter will tell you this, is to catch bullets should the time arise that you are in conflict. We are here to protect the US for whatever reason the commander in chief sees fit, wether we agree with it or not. We don't get to choose when we fight we just go and do our jobs and hopefully get home.

Nobody can prove that it was said. My family is all military, and they always say that you know what you're getting into when you sign the contract. By signing that contract, you're saying that you're ready to give your life for your country. I cannot justify the war, and nobody else on this website has the right to say it's wrong. We don't know 1/1000 of what is really going on with the government and war. It's not allowed, so we have no room to judge or take sides.

They were yelling slogans as they died? Sounds a bit over the top to me. They died because they were US military doing what they do. They are the best in the world. As one of them said to me before they went over this time, "I'm not going to lay down my life for my country. I'm going to help them lay down their lives for my country." Don't I care if one of them dies? Do you care if you lose a brother or sister, or husband or wife, or friend? How many people die in accidents all over America in three years time. Some folks join the military because they believe it's a good choice. And I'm darned glad they do.
