If you want a fantastic barbeque that will get all your neighbors calling on you to cook, check out

Americas Test Kitchen. They have a website, publish two magazines (Cooks and Cooks Country) and have a TV show on PBS.

We have been using their recipes for more than 7 years and all are fantastic, not just barbeque but everything....

First, they are using charcoals, not gas. Second, they are using woodchips to smoke their food, you're just grilling it. Woodchips give food the smokey flavor that makes outdoor cooking so much better than indoor - just can't get that with propoane. Third, they clean their grills before and after each use and brush the grills with out before they put the food on, so it doesn't stick, so they don't have the burned smell.

simple. maybe you're using the same sauce over and over again. try spicing it up with difference sauces and marinades. then those bastards across the streets will be salivating in their yards wishing they had your bbq. Tip: Marinate your chicken in soy sauce and orange juice over night and you will have one of the best meals you've ever had! honestly.

It's that old saying, " the grass is always greener on the other side" effect. What you don't have always seems better what you do.
