is golf a geek sport

People who have never seriously tried it will have no idea.

Golf is an endless variety of different shots and situations. It is one of the most physically demanding sports, requiring both power and a delicate touch. It is also one of the most emotionally demanding, as the only real opponents are yourself and fate. Your best efforts can be demolished by circumstance; your worst efforts can be rewarded by Luck. It's like life.

Professional golf is the only pro sport where the pay comes directly from performance. The only way to get paid is to do better than the others. Nobody makes a million dollars to sit on the bench.

Those who might think that it is a game for the rich or the elite have never talked to the people playing on the public courses. Everyone who has discovered the challenge is out there. All races, all genders, all pay levels, all ages, all skill levels.

hey!!! If you think that you might enjoy a life-long challenge, try golf. Don't worry about those who don't understand calling you a geek. (Besides, some of the richest, most successful people in the world are geeks...)

Have Fun

Tiger Woods just won the British Open for the third time and he's worth millions. I don't think he or I agree with it being a geek sport.

Not only the rich can play. Tiger earned his money because he practices and has talent.

I would say some of the outfits associated with golf leans toward that category, however the sport itself isn't.
