Maybe he likes the attention he gets when he limps.

could be an attention getter. But odds are no. It might be that the would has abcessed, when it drains he feels fine, and when it's full, it hurts and that is why he's limping at that time. Check out the area, and see if it's tender to the touch, if so, he needs to go back to the vet. I had a cat who's bite turned into a huge, horrible abcess (he actually showed up at my door with 1/2 his side a bloody open mess, his owners never claimed him) that I had to get treated, and about a month after all the antibotics were done and I thought we were home free, he started limping one night, and sure enough, the abcess had formed again. So check him out. By the way - this one that showed up is the coolest best cat I have ever owned - it's their loss for sure.

he may be playing the pity trip, that is definitely possible. But he also might have some stiffness or arthritis in the leg. If he had just gotten up he might limp because its a little stiff or painful. Once he's moved around for a while it loosens up and then he stops limping. Thats my guess.

Maybe your family member was abusive towards the cat and the cat remembers. Or the cat relates the bite with that person for some reason. Like possibly if that person has an animal also and that animal is the one who bit the cat.

If he's limping, he's hurting. It's possible the pain comes and goes. If attention and affection is making him feel better, by all means give it to him!

I had a cat who did that and a dog. They just crave attention, it has to be about them. They love the attention. Cats are funny. But if you are really worried about it take him to the vet again.

I truly believe animals sense things and your cat probably senses your sympathy when he limps. Maybe your giving him more attention and he likes it.

You must watch if he limps too, if you are not around ...
Probalby the inflamation is not completely cured it will need sometime.

he probably needs to go back to the vet, it could also be a lack of attention
