Well, think about it. If you were an omnipotent, omniscient and immortal being, wouldn't you be extremely bored? The only mystery would be, "What is it like to suffer and/or die?" That's why so many of God's commands lead directly or indirectly to human suffering, and it's why came down to become a human to suffer and die. God is fascinated with causing human suffering. Why anyone would love and/or worship the guy is beyond me.

Animal sacrifice is symbolic. God is not blood thirsty. Blood and flesth of sacrifice animal did not reach God. The only purpose is let the humans spend their money in the name of God to feed poor. Human love money more than God and it is the only way to take their money out of their pockets for a good cause.

animal sacrafice forshadowed the sacrifice of jesus perfect human life to atone for sin once and for all..even the rituals carried out by the priests had important meaning...by no means a wacky innovation.

why animal sacrifice? (well, it was better than the prevalent human sacrifice) The reason?...man's inherent sense of guilt.. all of life is psychology..
