Bones are a natural food for dogs. They are animals, in the wild, they would kill other animals, and eat their flesh. They may have had to come on carcases that were already mostly eaten, yielding to bigger stronger animals, and all that was left was on the bones. Anyway, they discovered their powerful jaws could crack the bones, and the inside had marrow.

They could save bones for later also, they could find them because their sense of smell. So bones make sense for dogs survival in the wild. The domestic dog still has that imprinted.

It seems odd in our world now, but it has it's reason in the Dog's history.

i don't know
maybe it is because wild dogs were bad hunters
so whenever they got food, they would eat it to the last morsel, thus eating bones

tell you the truth i have never seen a dog eat a REAL bone, cartoons like Snoopy make you think that way

examples: monkeys and bananas, elephants and peanuts, etc.
