I have a 7 year old daughter with blond hair that's almost white. We have a pool and her hair turns crazy shades of green in the summer. It is a pain in the butt to remove it on a daily basis basically impossible. so we leave it about once a week or so we put tomato paste in her hair and leave it on for about 30 min. With her in the pool so much it just comes back and she swims up to 8 hours a day. Beside my girl thinks its hilarious and if it doesn't bother her who cares? Why should you care what color your nieces hair is, let her have fun. You obviously don't have kids yet.

She porbably saw the prices on some of the shampoos that remove the chlorine. Most of the good ones that work well are sold in salons and can be $20 a bottle. Maybe she was hoping that the sun would bleach it back out. School is starting soon and it does need to be fixed, some schools have policies against oddly colored hair....

they have particular shampoos that can get the chlorine out. you may also attempt blending some baking soda in with a known shampoo; go away it in for a couple of minutes before rinsing it out. If that's chlorine from a swimming pool, oiling her hair and putting it in a swim cap before swimming may avert this difficulty (and upload moisture!). If that's chlorinated water from the bathe tap, the baking soda element ought to grow to be a lengthy time period answer, otherwise figuring out to purchase a showerhead clear out.

She probably thinks that he dyed it as a joke! I would tell her to take him to the doc. and see what the heck is the problem! I swim in the pool all the time ..but my hair never turned green! It could also be the clorine level. Well, good luck!

I have no idea. Maybe she's color blind?? If it's not your child there's probably nothing more you can do than politely tell the mother her childs hair is turning green.
