My anterior teeth are severly discolored, because i had braces on for more than 5 years.. And they have multiple restorations .. I really hate how they look like .. And since i am a dental student, i'd like my teeth to look nice.. So i'm thinking about doing veneers.. But i am worried about the complications .. are there any? Do you think i should have veneers? Do you have any other solutions??

Thanks in advance..

i would love to get them myself, my teeth are just fine, but they can always be better! i just wish they weren't so expensive. i don't even know how much they cost, i've just been told they're REALLY expensive! by the way, if you know the cost could you please add that in your additional information for your question please. ;)

Brother, go ask one of the restorative faculty at your school. You can get them done there cheaper (and better) than anywhere else. The major drawback is the fact that you'd be preparing the teeth and removing tooth structure. The more discolored they are, the more tooth structure needs to be removed. Find out who teaches your esthetic course(s) and ask him/her if they'd do veneers for you or if they can recommend a student who could do it. Students got veneers all the time at my school and usually the faculty did them all.

Seriously go talk to your faculty. They'll know more than people on Yahoo.

They now have the ones where they dont have to chop your teeth all up.. called luminecents or something.. but since your a dental student.. you could have them done for free.. I know most dental colleges work on people for real cheap so the students have the expirience.

As with any dental restoration, a qualified dentist should make the determination. As a future dentist, you have an excellent system of support and information to help you decide which, if any restorations are right for you.

get them. most importantly, find a dentist who uses arrowhead dental laboratory in sandy, utah to do them. these guys make the cases i do look so freakin good it's unbelievable. they charge $300 a unit for the lab bill rather than $100 like most but the upcharge is worth it. yes, that means $1000 a tooth.

one piece of advice is not to let the faculty do them. if they screw it up, are you comfortable with giving them a hard time until they fix it? go to a cosmetic guy and pay full fare and i promise that you won't regret it. and please don't just get 6 teeth done. you really need to do #s 4-13 to make it look right.

800 800 7200 is arrowhead's number to find one of their dentists in your area.

You're a dental student ???? You're asking for dental advice in this forum... and you're a dental student.???

I can only guess that you attend a really crappy school... or that you're a really crappy thinker.

Which is it?
