You need to report it to the police department and your insurance company, not the DMV. That way your insurance can contact the other person's insurance company for payment, and if it wasn't your fault, then you shouldn't be paying for the damages.

You need to report it to your insurance company. The DMV doesn't need to be notified by you. The only notification the DMV should receive is if you were written a ticket by an officer. And the officer will make sure the ticket gets where it needs to go.

how is this related to the health category you posted in?
how is the DMV gonna know anything about the accident? was there a police report? if there was, maybe you should report it just in case..if no report, there is no way of them knowing...

A friend of mine backed into my car two years ago. I didnt report it. We got an estimate on how much the damage was and she paid 4 it. Did you hit another persons car or something else? If you did you need to report it.

I stay in Michigan and we are suppost to rfile injuries, if we dont rfile it and a few how the police discover out, we get an computerized high quality and a pair of things on each and each licence of the drivers in contact. many cases injuries are no longer reported to avert tickets and fines. i'd be lost in this occasion too. Technically because of fact that your at fault, its a solid element that it wasnt reported to the police (you will have had fines and factors, subsequently your coverage would circulate up for right here couple of years). tell the different party to tell their coverage business enterprise that it became a fulfillment and run, subsequently area of the comp area of a declare. Technically because of fact that NO police rfile became filed, I dont think of you're liable for something. Its been over 20 days. i in my view think of that the different party is attempting to get funds from you in any way possible, how undesirable became the wear?

when you are in an accident , you should contact the police right away, from the scene....especially if you are on a public thoroughfare.
then you should immediately call your insurance company from the scene
for these reasons, you should carry a cell phone in your vehicle
in addition, you should keep a disposable camera in your car to take pictures of the accident scene and the damage to the vehicle(s) and property involved.

you don't ever need to go to the DMV. Depending on every ones insurance involved, they may need a police report. Check with your insurance agent, assuming you do have insurance right? since it is illegal to drive without it
