I tried to make a scan on my lemark x4270 all in one and it said something about tdhe ocr disk

Probably you tried an option that allow the character recognition of a text you just scanned and you didn't installed the software for this option, so it asks you the OCR disk. It could be Abby FineReader, Iris, or another piece of software that makes character recognition.

OCR is Optical Character Recognition , which is used to recognize letters, numbers and scan tham as such in a text format.

It sound slike you have the scanner in TEXT MODE Scan, that's why it was asking for the OCR Disc to install the OCR Drivers.

If you are trying to scan a document into a text or word processing file you will need to install the Optical Character Recognition program.
