She's still developing and needs the rest.

My guys did that and still do, but act like maniacs when they play...don't worry.

It's normal for puppies to sleep alot when they are at that age. Weenie Dogs are also known for being very active so your dog is perfectly normal. By "eats extremely well" did you mean your dog is overweight? that's never good... as an adult, a dachshund should be 16-32 pounds and a miniature dachshund should be anything under 11 pounds.

lol--reminds me of when my dachshund was a puppy. He used to do the same thing--play as HARD as he possibly could and then it was like he hit a wall and just collapsed for a snooze. He's three years old now and much better about pacing himself. We've also fallen into our routines, so he's been conditioned to know when play time, dinner time, walk time, nap time, and bed time are. Yours will grow to learn your routines, too. So don't worry--she's just being a puppy right now :).

She is fine. As a matter of fact you need to be glad that she is sleeping some. Daschunds are extremely active little dogs. They were actually bred to go down badger holes and hunt badgers. They are active, usually happy, they can be a little bit uneasy around small children and they sometimes snap (bite). My son had a daschund name Sampson, he was a trip, lived 19 years, went to college with my son and was a fantastic companion. don't worry she will be fine.

She is still a little puppy. You have to give her time to ajust to her life style. Also she probably get tired from playing. Remember she is still just a puppy. They won't do that when they get older, it's just she is little and needs her strength. As long as she is still eating ,drinking, and playing then she is fine. But if not see a vet imediatly.

She's a puppy. All puppies sleep alot. Not to worry as long as she's eating, drinking, & playing. Yes she will grow out of it.

do you mean a dachshund? Puppies sleep a lot. I have a dachshund & she slept a lot when she was younger, that's what puppies do. She's 10 now & sleeps a lot now b/c she's old. She didn't sleep a lot in between.
Here's info on them: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dachshund

Deworm her. Abnormal sleepiness is a symptom of Worms. Worms eat the nutrients, leaving your dog malnourished, even if you feed her well. There are worms that dwell/attack/constrict the heart, making her heart pump slowly, which makes her feel sleepy always.
