I know that insulin does it's thing to eliminate it, but is there something else that can cancel it out before the insulin kicks in.

How about Protein, would that do it.

insulin doesn't eliminate it--it helps the body absorb it in order to convert it into energy. Water helps to flush your system, but its effects are minimal without exercise. Exercise makes your body work harder, and so it kicks your metabolism into gear. Even diabetics report lower sugar after they have exercised.

No, protein is broken down into sugar, just like everything else you eat (including alcohol). You can increase the efficiency of your insulin with exercise and/or a chromium supplement. You can keep your body from absorbing the sugar through the bowel by taking laxatives or vomiting. Otherwise, exercise and chromium are your only choices, and they don't eliminate sugar (neither does insulin actually!) but increase the efficiency of your body's insulin.

No, protein would not "cancel out" sugar. Nothing does. Insulin helps it be metabolized. The only thing to keep the sugar from being stored as fat is to use it for energy. Get out and run!

My daughter is a diabetic and she drinks a lot of water and diet sodas and she exercises like swimming in the pool everyday. It causes her sugar to run really good.
