Why do black women get so angry at balck men dating white women?

Thought I should post this one again. It got a lot of responses so I wanted to offer another one for round two!

Just so you know, this happens in every race so it isn't fair to generalize unless you just say why do men, women get angry when someone of another race......etc.

Likely a black woman would prefer to date/marry a black man and some reasons why she may have problems doing so could lie in some of the following reasons:

1) It's said that the prison population is dominated by black male population, if so then that reduces the available pool to choose from.

2) Many times the available roles for black women in TV and movies portray the black woman in a negative light thus prompting some black men to seek mates outside of their race. Shows like popular 'Greys Anatomy' show a prominent black surgeon.having a relationship with an asian woman, while showing the only other black actress on the show in less than a favoritable light (most times angry w/attitude). So media plays a role.

3) Black stars in sports are often shown with their white wives, this i personally witnessed while in town during a parade celebrating a Laker's championship victory...as the bus went by many of the rich black players had white wives. Young black males often emulate their fav stars.

4) Black women graduate college far more than black men and likely feel disappointed if they find difficulty trying to match up with a black professional male.

5) Black servicemen traveling the world, often meet and marry white women etc because of the limited amount of black women where they're stationed. A black friend of mine was stationed in the Philippines and sure enough met and married a philippina and they're happily married.

[note: a good example of your topic is the award-winning movie 'Save the Last Dance',
where a black male openly and successfully romances a white woman (Julia Stiles) in a predominately black setting, and encounters some angriness].

I say love, date and marry whomever you want because it's your life.

Because of the reasons that black men have for doing it. A lot of things I heard from black men as to why they date white women is because black women have attitudes, black women are gold diggers, white women are easier and less challenging, or the worst one "I don't want my daughter to come out dark" (which sound like self-hatred to me).

Also, black women have a strong since of loyalty to black men. And, there's all the talk that there's not many good black men out there that their either in prison or gay.

I don't know, people come up with a lot of different reasons. But, everyone have their own reason for it so there is not one answer to this question.

Well me being a black woman, I can answer that (I am giving you our perspective on it). White women are more passive and submittive on a lot of things that black women would not tollerate. White women LOVE to please their men above and beyond all standards just to keep him. Black women will take just so much s* from a black man (well most of us). He is suppose to be a strong figure and anything less than that is not acceptable to us. It's not that we don't LOVE and respect our men, it's just our tollerance level for bulls* is not as high as white women. So, we may get a little pissed because some of us feel like the black man is trying to take the "easy way" through life by dating a white woman who will more than likely "carry" him through life.

As a Black woman, I don't get angry about it. But, I think it makes some us feel insecure or if the black woman is single, it makes her feel like "all the black guys have given up on Black women". I've hear older Black women say it makes them mad because they are from a different generation when Black men and women had to support each other and it makes them feel like they don't support their women. I've heard a few other women say it makes them feel like they are not attractive or have to try to meet some other standard of beauty. Like I said it's not a problem for me, but my white guy friends have asked why Black men date white women and then get mad when white guys date black women...? I think it's all about people's insecurities.

First of all I am sure that ALL BLACK WOMEN do NOT get angry blah blah blah

I guess it is the same reason that some black men get so angry at black women dating white men

... or that some white men get so angry at white women dating black men

... or that some white women get so angry at white men dating black women

... or that some hispanic women get so angry at hispanic men dating asian women

... or that some asian men get so angry at asian women dating hispanic men.

... I could go on and on and on ... blah blah ... using all the different combinations of all the races slavic, chinese, east indian etc.

... bottom line is that generally speaking ... people do not like to see interacial couples. Unfortunately I might add.

I really don't know. I am a black woman and I do not get mad. Like I always tell my friends and family members that make comments the only reason why I can see you are getting mad is because you want him and if that is the case I ask them would they feel differently if the other woman was black. A person should be able to date whom ever they are attracted to regardless of color.

How would the black woman know that the white woman would do what ever they want them to do?

The black women must had to experiment with the white man, or they are just jealous and want to be racist against the white people.

I may be black, but I don't see nothing wrong with it.

I go out with a white woman, it doesn't mean that she lets me do whatever I want to do. That's like calling white people whores. But there not. They are normal just like black people. We just don't have the same skin color.

As a white woman who has dated black men, it is not true that black woman are racists, they may or may not be but thats not why. it has to due with that black females fight for everything on the econoic ladder; on this invisible ladder it goes white men, then black men, then whiter females, then black females; I understand the feelings that if a black men is going to date why aren't they dating a woman who can benifit from their higher standard of living, and why are they having babies with females who are a different color, arent I pretty enough, arent I smart enough? Are only white females good enough to have your babies? this is a whole self esteem issue for women whom have had to fight for eveything they get for the last 3000 yrs... dammm figure it out, this isnt a small thing,

I don't know, but I read an article about match.com statistics, saying that black women do NOT, in general, date outside their ethnic group, especially when it comes to white guys. If that is the case, that would mean that every black guy who dates outside his ethnic group is one less available man. And maybe specifically dating a white girl seems like "selling out" to the idea of beauty that is forced down our throats by the media.
